- ANFF-Vic Biointerface Engineering Hub Equipment for surface modification including thin films, polymer grafting, biomolecule immobilisation and bioactive coatings in polymers, ceramics and metals.
- Aviation Simulation Laboratory Boasts three simulators and is the only facility in Australia capable of replicating flight in both aeroplanes and helicopters. The laboratory includes Victoria's only Redbird flight simulator and FlyIt Professional Helicopter Simulator.
- Chemistry and Biotechnology Laboratories Laboratories supporting applied and industrial research in chemistry, environmental science and biotechnology.
- Cisco Networking Laboratory Used to build large-scale broadband networks and provides industry-accredited Cisco training for students studying electrical and telecommunications engineering and networking.
- Direct Metal Deposition Facility This innovative additive manufacturing facility integrates CAD, CAM, lasers and powder metallurgy to provide a unique near net shape metal deposition process for use in a wide range of industrial applications.
- Electric Vehicle Laboratory The home of world-leading research and prototyping of electric vehicles, battery technology, drivetrain and electric motors.
- Energy Transformation Laboratory Laboratories used for research and teaching in fluid dynamics. It includes two facilities dedicated to renewable energy – the wave channel facility and the solar simulator, as well as a dedicated microfluidics room.
- Geotechnical Laboratory Equipment for physical and computational testing including the ability to measure shear, local strain, velocity, compression, consolidation and soil suction.
- High Temperature Processing Facility Used for the research and development of high temperature materials and minerals processing. Includes a solar simulator that is unique to Australia.
- Hydraulics Laboratory Develops and tests stormwater and sewer treatment devices. Equipped with state-of-the art pollutants-measuring devices.
- Impact Engineering Laboratory Impact Engineering Laboratory at Swinburne University of Technology is Australia's leading research group for studying the behavior of innovative materials and structures under dynamic/impact loadings.
- Keck Observatory and Parkes radio telescope Swinburne has guaranteed access to the world's largest and most productive optical/infra-red telescopes: the twin Keck telescopes in Hawaii and the CSIRO's giant radio telescope in Parkes, New South Wales.
- Microfabrication Facility Equipment for the preparation of samples, the deposition of dielectric and metal films and the analysis of surface morphology and texture.
- Nanofabrication Laboratory An $8 million facility that houses state-of-the-art tools capable of the highest resolution nanofabrication, down to 10 nanometers.
- Neuroimaging Facility Boasts the latest Siemens Tim Trio 3T magnet, allowing researchers to obtain high-quality images with stunning resolution. The facility has 12-channel and 32-channel head coils, a neck coil and a range of body coils for brain and spinal imaging.
- Smart Structures Laboratory Houses Australia's first hybrid testing facility, the Multi-Axis Substructure Testing system. The laboratory has equipment for large-scale quasti-static and cyclic testing of material and structural components.
- Solar Facility Works with nanophotonics, nanomaterials and nanoplasmonics to develop and commercialise solar cell technology.
- Swinburne Supercomputer Provides computational infrastructure to researchers at Swinburne and astronomers Australia wide.
- Ultrafast Micro-Spectroscopy Facility Measure dynamics with femtosecond time resolution and microscopic spatial resolution using a range of different and complementary techniques.
- Virtual Design Lab Provides a cost-effective means of visualising, modeling and testing systems and products.
- Virtual Reality Theatre The theatre has stereoscopic 3D projection on a five-metre-wide projection screen with surround sound. It is often used as an education and publicity venue. It can seat up to 56 people.
